Solving the MJF PA12 and PA11 End-of-Life Material Waste Issue 

Multi Jet Fusion technology limits the recyclability of powder media. Once the recycle limit is reached the powder is at end-of-life and can no longer be used. This requires MJF customers to discard large amounts of powder. This end-of-life powder can be recycled and used for high quality part printing on the XYZ SLS printers. 

Furthermore, this powder can easily be mixed with just 5% fresh PA-12 powder for lighter colored parts. XYZ Printing’s SLS machines are the perfect complement for MJF printer customers, looking to solve the high cost of throwing away end-of-life powder. These parts are completely ready for a dye or vapor smoothing post processing.

Of course, accuracy is always critical so we scan measured our XYZ standard recycled material versus 100% recycled MJF end of life material. The results proved no loss of accuracy as compared to the MJF process. 

Mechanical testing shows that parts printed with the EOL powder, using the XYZ MfgPro230 SLS, is approximately 90% tensile strength produced by MJF printing. 

The eyebolt blocks below required no thread chasing before use. The 10-24 eye bolt block easily lifted over 100lbs with no thread damage.
